HEAT

TUMBLE

AIRFLOW

CONTROL

These are the four essential functions of a laundry dryer.  Advantages in these areas add to the production and efficiency, while any deficit will limit the dryer's abilities.

HEAT

is required to raise the incoming air temperature.  The heating of air is the most expensive dryer function.

TUMBLE
action is required in order to separate the load, giving inlet air access to the products.

AIRFLOW
is necessary to move the hot inlet air through the load, and to exhaust the moisture-laden air from the drying chamber.

CONTROL

of these and other functions is crutial to dryer performance.  Your dryer may have the best heat system, tumbling action and airflow possible, but without "control" over these functions it will fail to perform properly.

Please keep these dryer essentials in mind as you consider the dryer related issues discussed in this Website.

All four must work in concert for the best performance.
